CLEANING ACTIVITIES IN KAMENICA PARK

In collaboration with the Municipal Secretariat for Ecology, the Center had organized cleaning of the Kamenica Park as to remove litter deposited in the Park for decades. This action involved the following participants: the SOS Children`s Village, the primary school kids and the university students of Novi Sad, citizens of  Sremska Kamenica, the Public Waste Utility Company, the Public Parkland Utility Company and the National Park of Fruska Gora.

During the Labour Day festivity attracting several thousands of  picnickers into the Park every year, litter disposal bags and fliers calling upon the visiters to keep the Park clean before leaving it, were handed over by the Center`s volunteers and the SOS children.

SEARCHING FOR FISH

The Center was the organizer of a creative ecological workshop "Searching for Fish" during  the 10th Festival of  Kids Ecological Theatre held in Backa Palanka. The activities were performed in the Tikvara Natural Park between August 18 and 22 and the participants were the children of Backa Palanka as well as those of the SOS Village. The objective of this workshop was to show how a thematically purposeful stay in nature can

motivate the creativity of children.

EXHIBITION IN JAPAN

End of October, the Center arranged for the SOS children a workshop in which they were making pictures using recycled materials: coloured paper pulp was affixed onto second hand jute bags.   gallery

These artworks were sent to Japan for the purpose of participating in the International Children`s Art Exhibition EXPO 2005 in Aichi.

Two of our children`s pictures were awarded and the prizes were handed to the awarded

children by a Japanese delegation in person during their visit to the Children`s Village and the CASPAR Center in June 2005.
